17th Annual Edition Magnificat “Nikolaus de la Flüe” Piano Competition

For the 17th year running, the Magnificat Institute presents the Magnificat “Nikolaus de la Flüe” Piano Competition. Named after the patron saint of Switzerland, the competition is sponsored by the Swiss Association “Amici del Magnificat.”

Additional prizes are offered by: the Compagnia di San Giorgio, the Austrian Hospice, the Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Palestinian Authority and the Zeppilli Family in memory of Giuseppina Zeppilli.

Young talented piano students hailing from Haifa, Jerusalem and surrounding areas will compete in 7 categories (according to their ages and level); auditions are open to the general public and will take place all day on Friday, January 29 at the Immaculata Hall in St. Saviour’s Monastery.
An international jury will evaluate each competitor.

On Sunday 31 at 6 p.m. the winners will perform for the public.
The winners’ concert will be held in the Auditorium Immaculata and it will be followed by the awards ceremony. Among the winners, a group will be selected to perform in Italy and Switzerland, courtesy of the “Amici del Magnificat.”
