"Today we held a meeting with the Minister for Regional Cooperation, Mr. Tzachi
Hanegbi who emphasized during the meeting that the government of Israel has no
intention to confiscate Church lands or to otherwise infringe upon its rights.
Furthermore, the Minister stressed that the State of Israel and the Churches will
maintain full coordination and open channels of communication with regards to this
subject.
We call upon the Government of Israel to uphold the commitment of the Prime Minister
not to advance the legislation as long as the matter is being discussed with the team
appointed by the government".
