On Wednesday, June 8, the new Custos Fr. Francesco Patton made his solemn entry into the Cenacle on Mount Zion. He left Saint Savior’s monastery, accompanied by about twenty Franciscan friars and the canonical visitor, Br. Varnai Jakab, OFM.
The Custos presided over the brief ceremony, at the beginning of which the hymn Veni Creator Spiritus was sung. Some religious from different congregations, as well as pilgrims passing through, also attended the ceremony. Like the apostles, who spoke several languages with the help of the Holy Spirit who descended upon them in this place, everyone was invited to recite the Our Father in his or her own language.
All were then invited for refreshments at the Little Cenacle.
