Jerusalem, 27th December 2010 – CUSTODY
This morning, General Camporini, Chief of Staff of Defence Forces, on an official visit to Israel, met the Father Custos for an exchange of Christmas greetings.
The General showed great interest in the multi-religious presence in Jerusalem and was fascinated by the history that can be told by so few square kilometres of land. He asked for an explanation on some of the differences between different Christian confessions and on the relations between the various Churches.
The Custos stressed the importance of the engagement of the Italian Army in the Middle East and in general on how greatly the work of the Italian troops is appreciated.
